I have continued to work on these themes and thought it worth doing an update of the working paper where I set out the problem and some ways of approaching it.  This project is far from finished but this version clarifies some points.

    as ever Mark, a very good paper with a great deal of provocation for thought, then the potential for action through various means. I especially am glad that you included abuse of the vulnerable and assumed superiority. There is an inherent attitude that seems to embed itself deeper in the psyche of humanity these days that acts a barrier to real humanity shining through in many situations.
